They are using public school resources to promote specific political/social ideologies under the guise of “social justice”.
That’s a misuse of resources, obviously, but how to object to it in a way that’s effective and force any change?
Here’s an idea: request equal time and resources at the conference, time to promote OUR political ideologies and our ideas of social justice.
If they don’t allow it, they’re discriminating right? A first amendment violation, kind of like allowing one church to have a holiday display on the town common, but not the other churches.
Force them to let us in, but in reality they would just be more likely to shut the whole thing down, which would also be a positive thing.
No, our public schools have a duty to use our public-funded resources in accordance with the law. We are entitled to remind them of that and ensure that they are in compliance, and take legal action if they refuse.
Pushing one political viewpoint and disallowing others is viewpoint discrimination, a violation of the 1st Amendment.
So if we do take action, we'll win, and they'll have some angry constituents to answer to for wasting resources defending the indefensible.
For example, this school district thought they'd get cute by putting up Black Lives Matter posters, but forbade any Blue Lives Matter posters. It was an expensive mistake:
So a registration fee was charged to cover expenses to logistically host a conference. The attendees could have funded that fee in a variety of ways. Bake sales, car washes, etc. it seems that maybe you are making an assumption on where the money came from.
Just like this post wants to pull back the curtain, there are people that want ICE staff unmasked and to identify themselves.
Not remotely connected 😂
You are right, seeing who is violating constitutional rights should be revealed. One can go to the presentation to see the presenters.
Thanks!

Just a thought.
Organize your own conference with your desired content and send out invites and include permission slips. No one is stopping what you proposed.

It was not publicly funded.
Oh yes it was.
"The fee to attend is $250.00 for a team of up to 12 people (students and adults) from one school."

NEASC also gets public funding, directly through grants and indirectly through accreditation fees.
School staff also get paid for their time at the Con.
You are pushing disinformation.
Liar.
Bad look for you.

Face it, it’s publicly funded by the schools and the state.
You don’t get to have your little left-wing political club gathering on the public dime and discriminate against people you don’t agree with.
It’s public education, not a clique FFS. Grow UP.
