Happened in MD about 12 yrs ago. The test came out of Johns Hopkins School of Health. It was part of the county "Health" curriculum and my daughter flung the permission slip in my face so I signed it without reading it carefully. She told me it was about smoking and drug use...so of course I signed it and didn't even read it (especially the very small print on the bottom!). OMG!!! It blew up in the county (lots of Indians, Muslims, Asians) as the parents revolted. My own 6th grader asked me if she was weird for not having sex (one of the questions was how many times a week are you having sex....the wording). The other problem was that even though the survey was anonymous (?), enough information was available so that the survey results could be traced directly back to the student (I guess for "intervention"?). It was NEVER administered again in my county! Kids took photos of the questions and posted them online....proof!

This is where you start a petition to recall the school board and get public exposure that way. Too many people more interested in indoctrination than education.

We had a similar issue in Beverly when my daughter was in middle school. We were not allowed to see the survey on line one was required to go to the school office to view it. I did!! It was presented to me in the form of one question per page. Interesting, they did not want it photographed thus the single page! It was a disturbing survey. If memory serves me it was affiliated wit Boston University. I opted my daughter out and have opt her out of every one since. The lack of transparency is by design, if parents could easily see the survey no one would allow their child to be subject in this odd experiment.

Instruct your kids that if they ever get a survey that wants to know about their personal behavior that they should tear the survey into pieces. They do not have to take it. If they are hauled into an office and asked these questions they should be taught to respond, “You should talk with my parents.” Train them to be a broken record. Then, dis-enroll your child that very day.
