This Week's MIP Digest
SIECUS groomers enter the chat, hear from detransitioner Katie Anderson at this upcoming event, tracking the Genderbread Person, and more
Here’s the weekly MIP Digest!
The MIP Digest is a regular feature with all the great information that has been posted in the MIP Facebook group during the previous week and sent directly to your inbox. It won’t capture all of the interesting comments and conversations that happen in the Facebook group, but it will include the highlights and provide a quick overview of the content, in case you missed it.
First, here are the posts from our Admins:
The countdown continues - submit your comment on DESE's draft Framework! SIECUS is weighing in. Will you?
It's time for another friendly reminder to send DESE your public comment on the new draft Comprehensive Health and Physical Education Framework.
Every week since the public comment period began, we have been highlighting one objectionable area of the framework and providing you with an example of curricula that would align with the Framework.
To see our previous countdown posts, click HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE.
But today we are going to do something a little different. Today we are going to highlight one of the organizations pushing for this Framework. Today we are going to talk about SIECUS, the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States, a national nonprofit based in Washington DC. SIECUS was founded in 1964 by Mary Calderone, Planned Parenthood’s medical director, and they have been doing their level best since then to promote sex ed, abortion, and basically all things sexual to school-age kids. In 2019 SIECUS dropped their longer name and added the tagline “Sex Ed for Social Change” to all of their branding, which pretty much tells you everything you need to know about their agenda.
At least they’re not pretending that they aren’t activists.
For more on the activist history of SIECUS, click HERE.
SIECUS created the Guidelines for Comprehensive Education: Kindergarten – 12th Grade, a resource still widely used as a foundational document for educational programs that want to adopt a Comprehensive Sexuality Education model (ahem… like what DESE is hoping to adopt).
SIECUS is also involved in creating the National Sex Education Standards, another widely used resource that contains some similar verbiage and is also VERY big on gender ideology.
We believe the SIECUS’ radical ideology influenced DESE’s draft Framework. And not only did SIECUS and their “Sex Ed for Social Change” ideology likely inform the Framework, but now, they are going to bat for it.
The following email was shared with us over the weekend by an advocate who is on SIECUS’s mailing list. This national organization is rallying their troops to contact DESE to express support for the draft Framework.
Click through to THIS POST to see all of the shady stuff SIECUS is up to, how they want to influence YOUR child’s classroom, and how you can oppose their agenda.
With SIECUS and other well-funded activist groups advocating for the draft Framework, it is more important than ever that MA parents and community members speak out and make their voices heard.
To submit your comment today, click HERE to use MFI's easy submission form.
If you have already submitted a comment through MFI’s form, or you would prefer to submit more detailed feedback, you can also submit feedback through DESE’s survey. This is what SIECUS is encouraging people to do. HERE is the link to DESE’s survey.
You can also read THIS POST for other ways to submit your comment. You’ll also find lots of other useful links including our extensive 33-page evaluation of the most concerning content in this draft Framework. And if you prefer a quick look at the issues with DESE's draft Framework, click HERE to download our pdf one-sheet.
The summer is almost over, and that means, so is the public comment period. If you still haven’t commented, send yours in today!
Hey Uxbridge parents - we need your help!
MIP is in search of an Uxbridge parent who would be willing to send an email to your school district requesting information on the sex ed curriculum used in Uxbridge.
If you can help with this, email massinformedparents@gmail.com.
Thank you!
Check out this upcoming event with detransitioner Katie Anderson!
Katie is a MA native who is speaking out about the dangers of transgender ideology. As a detransitioner herself (she formerly identified as a trans man) she has an incredibly powerful story and an important message for teens and adults alike. If you want to better understand the gender debate and the impact it has on today's youth and young adults, you won't want to miss this event!
From Massachusetts Family Institute:
Are you concerned about the woke agenda in our public schools? Wouldn’t it be great if our schools focused on reading, writing, and arithmetic instead of confusing young children about their gender? Join us on September 8th at 7 pm to hear what Massachusetts Family Institute and detransitioner Katie Anderson are doing to protect children and empower parents. Space is limited, so do not hesitate to register!

Is the Genderbread Person, the Gender Unicorn, or the Gender Snowperson in your district?
These gender ideology "edugraphics" are cropping up in more and more MA districts, but some parents still are not aware of what they are. The pictures below are the most common forms that these characters take, though other versions exist. Here is more information on each one:
These unscientific, confusing graphics are being found in classrooms as early as elementary school! We want to know which schools are using (any of) these graphics so that parents can be aware and act accordingly.
Here are the districts where these types of graphics have been reported so far:
Gender Bread Person:
Chelmsford
Dover-Sherborn
Mansfield
Old Rochester Regional
Sharon
Tantasqua Regional
Lynn (uses Informed and In Charge curriculum, which includes the Gender Bread Man)
Natick
Wakefield
Gender Unicorn:
Danvers
Middleborough
Arlington
Natick
Wakefield
Medfield
Avon
Gender Snowperson:
Lexington
If one of these graphics is being used in your district and you don't see it listed here, please let us know! Comment on this post or email jess@mafamily.org and we will add your district to the list. We want this list to be as accurate as possible so that parents can protect their kids from this dangerous nonsense.
Massachusetts Family Institute is tracking the sex ed curricula used in MA public schools via public record requests. You can visit THIS LINK to view the Sex Ed Map and see if there is information on file for your school.
However, some schools have not shared what they are using. Some have asked for large sums of money in exchange for the information. Parents can help with this project by sharing whatever information they have, or requesting information from their district. If your district does not have a report on the map and you want to help us get information on what's happening in your town, let us know!
