This Week's MIP Digest
The MA Commission on LGBTQ Youth wants your parental rights, Project Veritas does it again, Pride flags gone wild in one MA district, Panorama wants to talk to your kids about sex, and (much!) more.
Here’s the weekly MIP Digest!
The MIP Digest is a regular feature with all the great information that has been posted in the MIP Facebook group during the previous week and sent directly to your inbox. It won’t capture all of the interesting comments and conversations that happen in the Facebook group, but it will include the highlights and provide a quick overview of the content, in case you missed it.
First, here are the posts from our Admins:
What the MA Commission on LGBTQ Youth wants to do to your kids (and why it matters)
Over the last couple months we have talked a lot in MIP about the new Comprehensive Health and Physical Education Curriculum Framework that was proposed for MA public schools. However, shortly before the Framework was released, another alarming document was unveiled that could also impact the safety of youth in MA: the MA Commission on LGBTQ Youth Report and Recommendations for Fiscal Year 2024.
This 290+ page report encapsulates the MA Commission on LGBTQ Youth’s view on how MA is doing through an LGBTQ lens and makes recommendations for what they think the state should do to better serve LGBTQ people ages 13-24. This report does not carry the force of law, but with allies in the Governor’s office, we believe the recommendations will be taken seriously. And if these recommendations are put into practice, they WILL harm MA youth and families.
You may have already heard that the Commission wants to criminalize parents who do not affirm their child's transgender identity. That recommendation has been covered by several national media outlets. You can read one article HERE.
Unfortunately, that outrageous recommendation is only the tip of the iceberg. We've read their whole report, and there are MANY more issues in those almost-300 pages that parents need to know about.
For instance, the Commission wants to:
Collect data on the sexual desires and gender confusion of youth, and then using that data to justify more LGBTQ initiatives.
Indoctrinate a captive audience of students in MA public schools.
Force state employees to fall in line with LGBTQ ideology, whether they like it or not.
Use doctors and counselors to affirm gender ideology, disregard basic biology, and push their agenda.

But, you may ask, why should we care? The members of the MA Commission on LGBTQ Youth don’t make laws. What authority does this unelected activist Commission have?
The answer is, none. But they have plenty of influence.
Read our full analysis today to learn more about how this radical Commission is already influencing MA children and families. Then use what you learn to advocate against the outrageous, invasive, destructive, pro-child-mutilation positions these activists want to push on MA kids and families.
EXPOSED: this non-profit just got caught on camera admitting to sneaking their activist sexual agenda into racial justice classes. Oh... and they don't want Opt Out rights to exist.
If you've been following the woke trends happening in MA public schools over the last few years, that headline probably won't come as a surprise to you. We see evidence of activists and school officials using racial justice, anti-racism, or DEI as an excuse to talk to kids about sexuality and gender identity on a regular basis in MIP. And yet, they rarely admit it as plainly as they do in this new Project Veritas video.
You're gonna want to watch this video. It's 11 minutes well spent.
Here is just a taste of what these two ladies from a nonprofit that claims to provide sex education and support for LGBTQ student exposed about their tactics.
A nonprofit instructor explains how she sneaks her sexualized agenda into public middle school classrooms:
"...in some instances when we go to middle school they have a class called Pathways to Racial Literacy... we come in and teach for three days. That class, the parents are not allowed to opt them out of it. A real goal would be to remove opt out policies..."
The nonprofit Director provides further evidence:
"...more and more of the tenets of orientation... and that's done through racial justice... there's a mandate for racial justice and inclusivity... sometimes that's how we get through... because parents are not able to opt out of those classes..."
We won't spoil the rest for you. Watch the video for yourself.
The organization that exposed themselves to Project Veritas is called HiTOPS. It is a New Jersey-based nonprofit that "fosters strong and healthy young people of all identities by providing inclusive and youth-informed sex education and LGBTQ+ support for young people throughout New Jersey." You can read more about them HERE.
While you're on their website, take notice of the fact that there's nothing mentioned about their role in teaching students under the umbrella of racial justice. It shows up in their professional development offerings, but there is no way a parent could, by looking at their website, know that they offered the types of services they expose to Project Veritas. (They do outline their sex ed program, though, which starts at grade 2. But that's another conversation.)
If it wasn't for the hidden camera video, parents would have no idea this was happening.
From what we could tell, HiTOPS doesn't have a presence in MA schools (if you have evidence that they do, let us know!). But while MA might not have HiTOPS, there is a MA chapter of GLSEN. We already know that any school that has a GSA club likely has a connection to GLSEN, and MA GLSEN has a board member who serves as a liaison to DESE. The MA chapter of GLSEN has a page about racial justice right on their website HERE, where they mention their "collective efforts toward racial justice and liberation." Could an organization like GLSEN be using the same playbook as HiTOPS?
HiTOPS and GLSEN are only two examples of activist organizations that wants access to kids in schools. There are many, many more. Our alarm bells should go off whenever any outside organization comes into the school to provide instruction or resources. But topics of sexuality can be smuggled into other subjects by school staff as well - in fact, we know this is already happening.
The bottom line, Mom and Dad, is that this video is a reminder of why - sadly - we can't trust that every lesson that sounds well-intentioned actually IS. We have to be smarter than that. We have to ask questions.
So thank you, ladies from HiTOPS, for saying the quiet part out loud. Most of us already knew this was what was happening, but for the unconvinced, your candor is greatly appreciated.
Foote v. Ludlow School Committee UPDATE!
Yesterday, attorneys from MFI and the Child and Parental Rights Campaign appeared before the First Circuit Court of Appeals to ask them to reverse a profoundly troubling decision by a federal district court in Massachusetts. This decision would allow public schools to deceive parents about secretly helping their children transition genders at school. The case, Foote v. Ludlow School Committee, is one of the first of these cases to make it to this level of the federal court system. We expect a decision in the next six months or so.

Finally. Some justice.
Finally. Some justice for parents standing up to protect their children.

Parents, go to your child's school. In person. This is why.
Several photos and videos were shared with us by Milford parents, who took them at Woodland Elementary School and Stacy Middle School during Open House events. This is what parents saw when they went into their children's classrooms. And that means, this is what their kids are seeing every day at school.
Click through to THIS POST to see the rest of the videos.
Mom and Dad, your kids might not think to tell you that they walk down propaganda-gilded halls every day. If they don't, that doesn't mean it's not happening. It's probably because it's become so common that they think it is normal.
But just because something is increasingly common doesn't mean it is good.
Protecting kids from bullying is good. Teaching kids to be kind is good. But neither of these well-intentioned desires are justification for constantly pushing sexuality and gender confusion to the forefront of a child's educational experience.
Don't wait for your kids to tell you that the Pride Progress flag is hung higher than Old Glory at their school. Go into the schools yourself and see what your kids are seeing every day - whether it is flags, other politically-charged symbols, sexual-themed books on display, etc.
Here are some ways you can see what is happening inside your child's classroom for yourself:
Attend conferences and other teacher events IN PERSON whenever possible
Attend sporting events, plays, or other afterschool activities held in the school building (you might only see common areas this way, but that's better than nothing)
Join the PTO
Volunteer in your child's classroom (be prepared to go through a background check if necessary)
(Note: we do NOT recommend using unlawful means to enter a school building. There are plenty of good-faith ways for you to be an active, involved parent and community member and also to take advantage of opportunities to witness what is going on for yourself.)
The bottom line is, you can't address what you don't know about. Once you know, you can decide how best to prepare or protect your child from the ideas they are confronted with at school.
Parents, here's why you should opt your child out of surveys TODAY.
The survey below was given to Arlington Public School students in grade 3-5. This survey, called a "climate survey," begins IMMEDIATELY with gender-identity related questions! Parents were given advance warning that a climate survey would be given, but they were NOT told that the survey would touch on the issue of gender identity.
This survey is a perfect example of why it is wise as parents to proactively OPT OUT of surveys. Yes, the school technically notified parents in advance of this survey, but the parents weren't given a clear picture of what the survey would touch on. And yes the school sent an email out to the parents to notify them of the survey, but the email was sent with very little turn-around time. If a parent forgot to check their email, or if it went to spam, they wouldn't find out about the survey in time to opt their kid out.
To learn how to proactively opt your child out of surveys like this, read THIS POST.
In addition to gender identity, this survey then goes on to ask other loaded, emotionally-manipulative questions. One of the common concerns expressed about SEL surveys is that they ask leading questions in order to produce data that can be used to justify further SEL and DEI initiatives. This survey is full of those types of questions.
To read more about the dangers of SEL surveys, check out THIS RESOURCE from Courage is a Habit.
Let's remember: these surveys almost always cost MONEY. The Arlington Public Schools likely paid Panorama Education a pretty penny for the privilege of culling the intimate thoughts of their students. Lots of MA districts have done the same. After you opt your kids out of these surveys, find out how much of your tax dollars have gone to Panorama or other survey companies. Then hold your school committee accountable to make a different budgetary decision next year. If enough parents opt their kids out of these surveys, the data will no longer be reliable and it will be easier for them to say "no" to future surveys.
And finally, when you get a letter home from your school about an upcoming survey, REQUEST A COPY of the survey! This is easy to do and can be done by any parent. A simple email to your administrator will suffice. We especially recommend asking for any "climate" or "youth risk"-related survey. This is the only way parents will find out what is really being asked of our kids! And when you get your survey copy, if you see something concerning on it, share it with the group so other parents can see what is happening.
Upcoming webinar: SEL, Surveys, and Student Data: What Parents Need to Know
