Hear ye, Hear ye: Massachusetts Family Institute is Looking for Plaintiffs!
DESE will keep pushing indoctrination until they are forced to stop. Let's stop them.
According to the MA sex ed opt out law: “Every city, town, regional school district or vocational school district implementing or maintaining curriculum which primarily involves human sexual education or human sexuality issues shall adopt a policy ensuring parental/guardian notification. Such policy shall afford parents or guardians the flexibility to exempt their children from any portion of said curriculum through written notification to the school principal. No child so exempted shall be penalized by reason of such exemption...” (M.G.L. ch. 71 S. 32A).
This sounds like parents have the right to opt their kids out of sex ed, yes? And common sense would tell us that lessons on gender identity and sexual orientation should count as “human sexuality issues,” yes? And yet, an increasing number of parents are finding that their MA public school is not honoring their request to opt their child out of these types of lessons.
If you’ve been following Massachusetts Informed Parents over the last year or so, you may already know this. We mentioned it in our recent post about DESE’s trans-the-littles PD, and it’s come up time and time again in the MIP Facebook group. But here’s what you probably don’t know. MFI is actively seeking parents who will help us stand up to DESE. We want to make the case in court, that parents have the right to opt out of these lessons.
Have you tried to opt your child out of gender identity and sexual orientation lessons and been denied by your school? Are you willing to fight for your parental rights, and the rights of other MA parents? If so, MFI wants to hear from you!
Email info@mafamily.org for more information. An attorney will get in touch with you to discuss the specifics of your experience, and if you have a good case, what the next steps would be (should you choose to move forward).
Mom and Dad, it’s time to speak up. Let’s do this, together.
Let’s remind DESE whose kids they really are.
Not DESE’s. Yours.
